Vine of open dry areas, especially wasteland. Common Gros Islet.
This is a wild species, not Canteloupe melon escaped from cultivation.  Possible var. agrestis?   It has been around Gros Islet for at least 80 years and the fruits used to be stewed as a vegetable.  Also reported from Guadeloupe (Fournet)
